Rollins School of Public Health
Dr. Keith Klugman is the William H. Foege Chair of Global Health at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Emory University School of Medicine and is a visiting researcher in the Respiratory Diseases Branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Klugman is the co-director of the Respiratory and Meningeal Pathogens Research Unit at the University of the Witwatersrand, Medical Research Council and National Institute for Communicable Diseases in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is the Honorary Treasurer of the International Society of Infectious Diseases Executive Committee and Chair of the American Society for Microbiology’s International Committee. He serves on the editorial boards of eight international journals on medicine, infectious diseases and antimicrobials.
Professor Klugman’s research includes antibiotics, antimicrobial resistance and vaccines for bacterial pathogens. He has authored more than 375 publications on these subjects, and has chaired expert committees for the World Health Organization and the Wellcome Trust.
