End the Neglect 2020 Campaign

In January 2009, the Global Network launched, with a generous $34 million investment from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the End the Neglect 2020 campaign to raise public awareness and support from corporations, foundations, and individuals to control and eliminate some of the most devastating and deadly NTDs by 2020. The campaign will include the Just 50 Cents initiative, the Global Network’s grassroots fundraising and awareness campaign designed to give individuals the chance to make an impact on the world’s poorest people by simply donating the change in their pockets. Just 50 Cents participants convert nickels, dimes and quarters into meaningful change by organizing collection drives in schools, workplaces or communities.

End the Neglect 2020 also aims to galvanize support around the formation of regional NTD trust funds and cross-regional working groups, designed to form financing mechanisms to raise and efficiently disburse funds to affected communities. As these regional approaches are developed, the Global Network also engages the broader policy and donor communities to support control and elimination efforts. The Global Network works diligently to match donors with projects wherein their investments can have the greatest impact, and also works with donors new to the global health space by demonstrating how their interests can align with our programs.
