Sabin works with countries around the world to prioritize, fund and strengthen health programs – contributing to improved immunization coverage and the fight against neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). Through engagement with health and finance ministers and policymakers Sabin helps countries expand access to life-saving health services.
For example, through our Sustainable Immunization Financing (SIF) program, we’re engaging parliamentarians and leaders in ministries of health and finance to support their countries’ efforts to sustainably finance and run their own immunization programs – with the goal of reducing dependency on outside funding and assuring country ownership of immunization programs.
Sabin is also partnering with endemic country governments to develop national plans to control and eliminate neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). We work with policymakers in donor countries like the United States, United Kingdom and Germany to mobilize resources for the fight against NTDs and encourage cost-effective integration.
Sabin leverages media relations, social media and creative campaigns like END7 to influence key policymakers and promote the control and elimination of NTDs. As former heads of state and directors of regional health organizations, Sabin’s NTD Special Envoys provide the political voice and technical expertise needed to shine a spotlight on NTDs at the highest levels.
Sabin’s UK partner, Sabin Foundation Europe, works with the private sector, civil society, policy and decision makers to support UK Government leadership across NTDs, global health R&D and vaccine advocacy, areas that complement Sabin programs. Sabin Foundation Europe also hosts the secretariat of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Malaria & Neglected Tropical Diseases to support UK parliamentary champions in their work to raise the political profile of these diseases.
