Last week, Sabin Vaccine Institute president Dr. Peter Hotez traveled to Mexico City to serve as Chair of the Miguel Aleman Foundation. During his week-long visit, Dr. Hotez had the exceptional opportunity to speak about neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and vaccine development at esteemed institutions in Mexico, including the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINESTAV) and the National Institute of Cardiology.
On his recognition, Dr. Hotez says:
"It's been a true honor serving as Chair of the Miguel Aleman Foundation's Health Program last week in Mexico City. I want to thank the Miguel Aleman Foundation not only for honoring our work but also for providing me with the opportunity to engage with inspiring students, researchers, doctors and journalists at many local institutions. It is through this type of cross-country partnership and mutual learning experience that we will accelerate advances in neglected tropical diseases plaguing the poorest people worldwide."
