Dr. Ciro de Quadros, a giant in the world of public health, died peacefully at home yesterday in Washington, DC surrounded by his family. He was 74 years old. He dedicated his life to championing health as a fundamental human right and worked tirelessly on behalf of the world’s poorest populations to increase access to life-saving vaccines. As a result, millions of children around the world are alive today, and millions more have grown into healthy, productive adults.
