In two articles published today, Dr. Peter Hotez speaks out about the burden of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) on people living in poverty in the United States. The first, "Neglected tropical diseases deserve attention" appears online in the Austin Statesman. The second piece, posted online by the Huffington Post, is titled "A New Tropical Medicine Clinic for 'Third World America'".
