The 2010 Albert B. Sabin Gold Medal Award was presented to Dr. John D. Clemens, President, International Vaccine Institute; on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in conjunction with the 13th Annual Conference on Vaccine Research sponsored by the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID).

The Gold Medal is awarded annually by the Sabin Vaccine Institute to recognize a researcher who has made extraordinary contributions in the field of vaccinology or a complimentary field. The medal commemorates the legacy of the late Dr. Sabin, who discovered the oral polio vaccine and worked tirelessly during his lifetime to see it and other vaccines utilized globally.
