Dr. Peter Hotez comments on schistosomiasis and the work being done to eliminate it. 

"Schistosomiasis is the leading gynecological affliction in girls and women in sub-Saharan Africa,” says Peter Hotez, founding dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. “It actually causes poverty because of its long-term impact on child development and worker productivity.”
