Sabin Executive Vice President Dr. Ciro de Quadros received the Premio Carlos IV for Research in Preventive Medicine and Public Health yesterday from the Royal National Academy of Medicine (RANM) during a ceremony chaired by HRH Infanta Margarita.

The Premio Carlos IV for Research in Public Health is awarded yearly by RANM to promote activities related to improving public health and progress of biomedical research in general. Dr. de Quadros was honored for his pioneering work with smallpox surveillance and containment and his leadership for the eradication of measles and polio from the Americas.
