Last Friday, Sabin president Dr. Peter Hotez was a featured guest on Soledad O’Brien’s CNN morning show “Starting Point.” On the show, Dr. Hotez discussed the burden of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) globally and closer to home in the United States.
Live from New Orleans, Louisiana, anchor Soledad O’Brien examined issues that directly affect people living in the southern part of the United States. During the segment, Dr. Hotez talked specifically about emerging diseases like Chagas, dengue fever and other NTDs in the southern states.
Today’s show represents an important opportunity to bring NTDs to the attention of the millions of viewers tuning in to CNN.
