NEW CANAAN, CT—Dr. Allan L. Goldstein of the Sabin Vaccine Institute, headquartered in New Canaan, Connecticut, received Panama’s highest national honor during a visit to that country earlier this month. The decoration as “Commander” in the Order of Vasco Nuñez de Balboa was presented to Dr. Goldstein at an awards ceremony on December 6 in Santiago, Panama.

A new study in the November 7th issue of The New England Journal of Medicine shows no association between the MMR vaccine and autism. This study adds significant weight to the extensive body of evidence supporting the safety of the MMR vaccine.

WHAT: The Sabin Vaccine Institute will convene a scientific colloquium, “Global Vaccine Shortage: The Threat to Children and What to Do About It,” where world experts will examine the current problems with maintaining vaccine supplies, and recommend lasting solutions for improving vaccine security.
