PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases Journal Celebrates Fifth Anniversary by Announcing Geopolitics Collection, Call for Papers, and More

The open-access journal, PLoS NTDs, celebrated its fifth anniversary. To commemorate this great achievement, the journal compiled editorials and research papers published over the last five years to create a collection, called “The Geopolitics of NTDs.”

The collection focuses on the geographic distribution of NTDs by region to highlight the key differences as well as similarities between the diseases in different areas around the world.

Austin, Houston and San Antonio, three of the most populated cities in Texas, have something in common with the world's great population centers - Cairo, Jerusalem, Petra, Baghdad, Shiraz, Delhi, Kathmandu, Chongqing, Wuhan and Shanghai. All are located on or close to the 30th parallel north. All, to some degree, are home to people in poverty.
