The 15th International Rotavirus Symposium was held in Cape Town, South Africa from September 30-October 2, 2025, bringing together more than 250 global experts to share the latest advancements in rotavirus research and prevention. Under the theme “Rotavirus Vaccines at 20 Years: Success, Challenges, and the Road Ahead,” the symposium reflected on two decades of progress in rotavirus prevention and control while examining persistent challenges and emerging opportunities. Sessions included topics such as global disease burden, vaccine development, economic impact, and policy implementation, as well as discussions on genomics, surveillance, and strategies to enhance equitable vaccine access.
