2026 Gold Medal and Rising Star Award Nominations are Open

It’s awards season at the Sabin Vaccine Institute!

Nominations are officially open for the 2026 Albert B. Sabin Gold Medal and the Sabin Rising Star Award!

If you know a colleague, mentor, or innovator whose work has advanced vaccines and immunization, this is your moment to recognize their contributions!

Since 1994, Sabin has awarded the Albert B. Sabin Gold Medal annually to an individual or team who exemplifies Sabin’s mission to make vaccines more accessible, enable innovation, and expand immunization across the globe.

Past recipients comprise a Who’s Who of big names in fields like vaccinology and epidemiology, whose contributions improved access to vaccines, made major impact in vaccine research and development, and enabled innovation to expand immunization. They all left an indelible imprint toward the improvement of public health.

Also open: nominations for the Rising Star Award, which recognizes those under 40 whose promising science, research, or public health careers exemplify Sabin’s mission to make vaccines more accessible, enable innovation, and expand immunization across the globe.
