First Regional Dengue Symposium
The First Regional Dengue Symposium was held 3-4 November, 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It brought together 120 interested stakeholders from 16 countries to provide an update on new data and relevant research that will inform public health agendas related to prevention of Dengue.
- Provide a common ground for discussion and exchange of ideas that contribute to overcoming obstacles in the prevention of dengue fever.
- Review the currently available knowledge and experience for surveillance, detection, diagnosis, management and treatment of dengue.
- Learn from the experiences of countries in the Americas who have been focusing on their social and economic context in order to generate more information.
- Review important topics of high scientific complexity (vaccines, new technologies, available tools for prevention and control of dengue, economic burden of dengue)
