Together with University ISalud, the Sabin Vaccine Institute (Sabin) virtually convened the IX Ciro de Quadros Vaccinology Course for Latin America over a six week period in April – May, 2021.

The course, named in memory of public health hero and Sabin's former Executive Vice President Dr. Ciro de Quadros, aimed to familiarize participants with current global and regional immunization policies and technical guidelines, as well as with effective communication strategies. Leaders in the field prepared pre-recorded presentation the fundamentals of vaccinology, current vaccine recommendations, issues surrounding immunization campaigns, and successful strategies and funding mechanisms which participants were able to review at their own schedule.  There were also weekly live sessions for participants to connect directly to the presenters. Participants who completed the course are now able to utilize information and skills learned to improve vaccination coverage within their own countries.

Approved presentations from the course can be found here.
