On 19-20 June 2015, the Sabin Sustainable Immunization Financing (SIF) Program organized the Peer Exchange on the Establishment of Resource Tracking Mechanisms for Immunization at the Hotel Le Lagon II in Dakar, Senegal.

National Expanded Program for Immunization (EPI) Managers, Data Officers, and Accountants from Senegal, Mali, and Cameroon devised a joint budget monitoring framework for their sub-region and assessed each other’s budget advocacy techniques through a role-playing simulation.

All three countries participated in the Francophone Africa Peer Review Workshop on Sustainable Immunization Financing in Kribi, Cameroon on 4-6 December 2014. One of the six main recommendations in the Peer Review Workshop was for all six countries in attendance to systematize budget tracking mechanisms by the end of 2015. The Peer Exchange Workshop in Dakar was an important first step towards this common goal.
